ABOUT THE ARTIST

Making jewelry began as a hobby, something to pass the time, in the spring of 2005. I entertained the notion of selling my wares at the summer bluegrass festivals where my husband played and set out to make enough pieces to fill a small table. I made only macrame jewelry at first, then expanded to stringing some beads and twisting some wire. I turned my hobby into an official business in September of 2006.
Although I have had no formal training, I strive to make each piece a wearable work of art, using techniques learned from books and the internet. My ideas for design often come from the materials themselves---shape, color, and texture playing important roles. Most pieces have a natural, organic feel to them.

I sell my jewelry at many craft shows, farmers markets and through custom orders. Check back often to see when I will be near you .

Some of my designs are now posted on Fire Mountain Gemstones website under Customer Designs. Please visit my new Facebook page by clicking here.

My husband and I have started a self-sustaining homestead. I get to spend a lot of time with my two beautiful children, Cadan and Nadia, and husband, Adam. In addition to jewelry-making, I help tend to the chores on our small family “farm”, consisting of chickens, rabbits, goats, sheep and pigs. We have a gigantic garden that helps supply much of our food through the year, in addition to the eggs we get from the hens.
In the Spring semester of 2010, I received my NY state teaching certification in Music K-12. It was a lot of hard work, but well worth it. I currently work part-time teaching private music lessons; mentoring at the local after school program; and subbing at area schools. I continue to sing with the Frank Sacci Big Band Orchestra (Watertown, NY) and have recently become the bass player for the Atkinson Family Bluegrass Band (Harrisville, NY).
